Oh my, it seems that the 360 Live community, being the nice people they are (BLAHAHAHAHA!) have decided they don’t like gays.
Okay, not really. Well kinda.
Microsoft has decided to either remove or change anyone’s gamer tag with the word “gay” in it, regardless of use. This has unsurprisingly pissed off a fair few gamers.
Chief of which RichardGaywood & TheGayGamer. Both of whom have either had their names changed or accounts messed with.
Oddly, a statement from MS along the lines of ‘TheStraighterGamer’ or ‘TheHeterosexualgamer’ would have gotten the same treatment. Which I think is a lot of crap.
Have you ever been on Live? Lordy! There are far worse people than the odd person with the word gay in their gamer tag. Join a game of Halo 3 for 20 mins and you’ll find far worse in moments.
It’s all just stupid, really. You think people would just get on with the game and play nicely but no.
This is why PC gaming is superior. Been playing TF2 for over 300 hours and never had a problem with people complaining about Gay Eddie.
Oh well, maybe Live will start and auto-castration system for extra gamer points or something soon.

~~~UPDATE~~~
Microsoft in their wisdom have decided on Mr Gaywoods name.
The verdict?
No. You can’t be called that. Pick something else.
Oh what a lovely bunch Microsoft and Live are.
Well Richard Gaywood’s a freelancer, so now he can spin a whole feature out of this. Care to contact him for a CPC scoop, Alex?
