F**K You Education System.

Urgh, as some of you know (what the hell am I saying, no one read this crap) I’ve been struggling / getting annoyed at university. In my time at UEA (University of East Anglia) I’ve done crap all real work and general pissed off at the whole university thing in general.

I’ve done multiple “ice breaker”, a bibliography, been lead round the hell that is UEA  at 8.30pm on a cold ass night after a 30mile drive and a full day at college, learned that copying work is WRONG, hated everyone and looked at bunnies. Then we moved to GYC (Great Yarmouth College) where it was slightly better until we got Mark and B(ald)-Mark who where not too bad but had to give us bull crap assignment that even they though was stupid.

Anyway, after that few months of hell I’ve been kicked in the balls by my college. I was planning on doing a top up from a HND to a proper Degree thingy and be happy about it. Learn some new .asp and a few other things I wanted to learn. The GYC called me tonight to tell me “We’re not running the top up”.

Pardon?

I’ve paid £750 for a university thing that I hated and waited a few months and paid UCAS £15 as well to process all this and you’re now telling me “no, you can’t do you’re degree here”.

After all the hell and toil it comes down to a simple problem of numbers. Okay, we where going to have three or four people but still, I’ve had less on other courses.

So now it seems my educational life may be at an end. I’ve rather liked being in education. I’ve met some cool people. Like:

Dave – Old but MASSIVLY intelligent chap. Very old school ways of talking and working. Knows string theory and many other things. Not the type of person you’d meet else where.

Steve – Only man who would ever let us test a network with a session of Half Life. He was funny, smart and we shared our films with him.

Andy – The slightly scary tutor but had a cool boat and a place in the south of France. Could get along with him well but he’d really teach stuff.

Garry – Proper techno geek. Had a Star Trek prone on his desk, double monitor, and a proper thrash work computer with 3 HDD sticking out. Really cool guy.

Mike – My 1st teacher at GYC. Really good engineer as well. Proper stand up guy who would really help me out if I needed it.

Now, I’m probably not really going to see any of these people again. Which sucks, well Steve I might see again as I can just slink into college to pick up a folder and drop off some stuff. That’s pretty much it though.

Guess I have to get a job now then.

God damn GYC and UEA.

I’m going to go read Fart Party to cheer myself up, or go all Emo.

NO!Must not go Emo!

I’m sorry to hear things are so bad, I had a great time at Uni and think you’ve been massively unlucky - I don’t know the whole story, but you may find that contacting the University watchdog might help?

Yes yes do SEE Steve again but don’t write emo off so quickly, after all, he made Rod Hull a decent living for ages.

Some suggestions:

1. Learn some manners.
2. Learn to spell. Generally, this helps when applying to higher education.
3. Grow up.

How old are you? Twelve? How on Earth do you ever expect to get an interview let alone a job with that sort of attitude, let alone grammar, spelling and genera lliteracy.

If it’s any consellation, in the 14 years I’ve been an Organic chemist, my time at Uni was a total waste of time and not relevant to my actual job. Train while working is the best way, then you’ll learn what ACTUALLY happens not what some ‘haven’t been on the shop floor’ boffins THINKS happens.

“Some suggestions:” - Bob

Hey Bob, F-U too. My blog. My real self and world presented self are not the same.

To everyone else, thanks for the comments. They perked me up a bit. The emo was averted.
