Tempted by the Darkness (AKA Mobiles).

I went in looking for little pc’s and laptop, little did I expect there to be shiny evil devices so near. They glint at me, like some jewel in the dirt. With their cameras and texting, they whisper to me.

Enough with that, I was in Comet today looking at computers and laptop for my Uncle. He wants a new one for his office, a nice little one and Comet did have some thin Acer PC things that looked perfect. Sold out, lovely.

So I look about in Comet, 50 inch TV’s (running a native resolution of a 24inch inch? WHY!) and some cheap laptops. My aunt wants on for Spider Solitaire, that’s it. While I was there I passed the mobile section.

I still have yet to get one. I don’t admit this but I did have one, ONCE. It’s entire life was spent either lost or out of charge and the ONE call I did get on it was from the company who did the SIM card asking if everything was alright … at 7.00am. Was a Nokai 3310, brick of a thing!

So in Comet I’m having a look at the selection and, stone me they are cheap! They had pre-paid for £20-30 and they where alright looking things. Cameras as well, which seemed good for the price.

I’m really starting to find it hard to not have a mobile. I don’t need one; I don’t know anyone who would phone me. Top it all off, only been bitten for not having a mobile twice (drove to Stansted airport and missed. Other time my wheel tired to go free thus leading to a HILAROUS walk and a pay phone that didn’t take money).

Still, for the price it’s tempting. Dose means selling soul for it though.

Damn stupid evil phones.
