Once C-macc’s was complete i started to work on a new system which was called I-Macc’s. Now I got to the stage of the frame being complete but i was never happy with it so instead of waisting my time trying to make some thing out it of i completely scrapped the idea and started again.
So after many hours on Google sketch Up i drew my self a complete new sub fame which in its present form represent some near to a Naomi cab. Now its has a similar look to this type frame work but in many ways is a complete new design and set up for such a system. The basic idea of a “Z” frame has been implemented to hold all the wood work and components but well as per the norm pictures speak way louder than words. So here are some Pics of the work done with in Google sketch up.
Now after quite a few set back’s such a having to redesign the frame work from the ground up and forgetting to include the depth of the LCD screens were got to a stage were the metal frame work is nearly complete. All we need to do now is add the mounting brackets for the LCD Tv and all so some mounting points for the wood to be fitted. Pics below of the work so far which may not seem much but has taken a good few weeks just to get to.
There is still a lot more work to do and a lot more gear to buy but i thought id update this blog to reflect were i am up to so far. Things are progressing and im not going to rush this system just to keep people interested. This is going to be a slow and long build process and well like every one else there is a recession going on around us that effects the way i have to work and has all so caused me a hell of a lot of set back but i will prevail …
As i said above this is “LOOSELY based around a SAGA NAOMI CAB design” … Pictured below is a Actual Naomi cab ….

Time fly’s when you having fun. Here is a 32″ Samsung LCD Fitted. Ive taken photos at different angles on the frame. It will house up to a 50″ Screen which might be just a little to big for most but when i get the chance ill show it with a larger screen later on. Time to crack on learning wood work now lol. if next time i come on and i cannot type its because ive never in my life used a new tool called a Circular saw that ive just bought hahaha … finger liking good stuff …..
A little more work done on rough cuts to the frame work. Need to weld the mounting points into place as of yet and various other things to do but shes coming along slowly. Best go tidy up the home sted lol …
More pics of work done so far :-

Update 02/02/2009
********
Oky the wood work was scrapped as it was just not upto the standard i needed and after a few people who i may call pro carpenters took a few looks at it ive decided to take there advise and handed it over to some pros. The back box is going to be handed over to them and the CP is going to be milled instead. This has added more cost to the build but i think its needed to make it look and feel better.
The Cp has all so changed a little to a 3 x 3 x 2 Button config after messing around with a card bored mock up of the system. This was all so advised by “Russ” on here before in the past which i chose to ignore at first but after playing finding out he was correct. Thks russ !!!
The taps have all been welded on and a few have been changed to suit its design all so a few other minour changes have been made to improve the over all effectiveness of the system.
The art work is going to be some thing different and not follow the normal “Arcade Style art work” at all. All so the logo is being worked on to suit this. Ill not show and tell just yet and let that be a nice surprise to you all. Some may like others may not but we will have to wait and see.
Like i said before though this system is taking a long time to make and im learning new things as its being built. Since im not sponsored by any one except “GameEX” i don’t have any dead lines to keep inline with which gives me plenty of time to adjust things as we come across problems. I would say C-Macc’s was easy to build compared to designing a new system that is being built specifically to fit in a home environment and be different from any thing else. ideas have been taken for many systems and merged into my own concept that will hopefully not only look quite good but be some thing out of this world to play on.
Sorry to any one who would like to leave a comment as i have disabled them for the moment until i have got a little further on in the build. The comments below have all so be adjusted somewhat as its started getting a little to sour for my likening hence for the reason i took the action of disabling comments for now.

Well some good news for me is Im now sponsored by http://www.ultimarc.com. This is good news as i love there products hence the whole control panel is being designed around there latest and best controllers. All so im have Gameex sponsoring me to which i would consider one of the best front ends not only for retro gaming but all so for multimedia set ups.
So for all the BEST arcade controls in the UK goto http://www.ultimarc.com. all so if you do get some and see this let them know its from me
….
Ill be taking close up photos of all there gear as it arrives.
all so OND has been working on new logos for c-macc’s 2 and art work which is decidedly different. hes sticking to a request of a HR Giger Style type art work and has come up with some very nice previews for me to use. More will come later on that.
I have been working my self on a card board mock up of the Cp. Now im going to be changing the Cp to a 4 player system with a roller ball and a nice spinner. So again the design has had to change with this new upgraded in the cp. Below are pics of the cp mock up so you can see how im going on about the work.
This is some previews the artwork from OND for the “C” in C-Macc’s 2.

test mock up cp up and running light show via youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7urMokvJOZU
Im just testing out and fixing the light into place and the controllers. the vid shows a small demo of the lights working with the RGB track ball mounted.
Still a lot more work to do. each Switch has 4 wire. thats 2 earths and 2 power. There is a total of 43 Buttons to wire up = over 172 wire’s to installed and that is not including all the other stuff that needs to be wired up.

12/03/2009 Update
***************
Well time for a small update as such.
Been working on the Cp some more and all so a few other bits and Bobs. The Cp has the lower section done and the Slide out Keyboard Tray. All so has been drilled for the USB and the Side pinball buttons. Im still awaiting another part for the CP for the Top but until i can get it there isn’t much more i can do to the CP. Ive undercoated it and fill it ready for painting but thats the limits atm.
Pics below -
All so had some other things done to the main steal frame work. It now has 4 adjustable feet and the lower Base of the frame has had tabs welded higher up do the the base of the system is in line with the wood work. This is so that i can stick in a Floating section to add the PC onto it. All so the Back box has now got a false wall fitted to it so that cables can be hidden behind.
More pics another time.

Update March 24th 2009
********
Time for a small Update.
Well i have put in the shelfs and allso been working on the Doors for the front.
Here you can see the work done on the front.
I then did the door with White plastic Spay can undercoat as per OMDs build logs and then the surrounding frame with black plastic under coat. Once that had dried i used Grit 2000 wet and dry and sanded down . I then did a fine mist of white on the black and black on the white and again rubbed it down with 2000 Grit wet and dry. This revealed a fair few dimples and large deep air lines marks on the wood so i filled them and sanded it down again. I then re undercoated it all.
Iafter 24 hours in the airing cupboard and a pre warning to every one in the house to stay out i then pulled them out to find a grate big dent across one of the door (was i annoyed i think so) My kids had thrown in some plastic toys and damaged them …
So again after filling and redoing the under coat and another 24 hours i then used Gloss white car spay paint on the doors and Matt black on the frame work. And again after sanding down with 2000 Grit wet and dry and re doing it all again a few times i then left them 24 hours to harden ad dry but this time i fitted a lock on the airing cupboard to stop any mishaps lol ….
Once the 24 hours was up i then re sanded them down with 2000 grit wet and dry and applied several coats of clear Lacquer and left them for 8 hours and then wet and dried and re lacquered them. Once that was done and dryed after 24 hours i then fitted the locks.
I still need to polish them but ill do that laster on. Pics below …
more to come another time

Well after picking up my CPC mag ive seen there no longer using these Plogs soooo …. Im not going to keep this PLOG updated any more.
if you head over to http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=163004
You can view my Log there in more detail.
Shame these plogs were just canned but i suppose thats life ….
Looks like a Sega Naomi cabinet
Dude lets get it right! this looks a evolution of the previous cabinet you were building, maybe even the same thing?, When you posted pictures of that i pointed out the similarity and you were like Sega Naomi? whats that??? they’re made out of wood. So lets not get funny eh? Moving on… looks good. Is it going to be strong enough my Naomi cabinet weighs loads! the frame looks a bit flimsy?
Yip is has some fine tuning to c-macc’s 2 (which was canned due to reasons above). Its called revenge do the to fact i will finish her come hell or high water lol . P.s no personal attack on you about naomi ment ive heard it alot. The frame is real strong as it has 2″ by 1″ steal frame and is double welded at its week points. The angles are all so made to help distribute the weight thought out the system. A way we all so tested it was for me to stand on arm and a mate to stand of the other (us combined were taking the micky just to see if she would hold). No picture taken cos we didn’t even think about photos at the time. As you’ll notice as well there is no need for extra struts to hold the frame into place. The frame isnt to bad alone to carry but once the wood is fitted this thing is gonna weigh a ton but ive thought about that and youll see how later on in the build. Im not reveling to much just yet sort of letting people taste one chocolate at a time and each one just gets better until you’ve had enough lol …
I am well impressed with this and your tenacity. The original sketches did not look great, but its coming good.
Arcade cabinets have often usually been similar and taken ideas from previous cabinets. I think it great that you got this far..
why did you edit my last post?
