All the latest stories from the 2008 Computex trade show in Taipei, Taiwan

When it comes to PC components such as CPUs, motherboards and graphics cards, Computex is by far the biggest trade show around. Each year, the world's biggest computer companies descend upon Taipei, Taiwan en-masse to demonstrate their latest products. The 2008 show runs from June 3rd to 7th, and the Custom PC team is reporting from there. Below is the full list of stories from the show:

Custom PC Podcast Episode 17, with a Computex preview, where Deputy Reviews Editor Clive talks about what he's looking forward to seeing at the show, and what it's like reporting from Taiwan.

Sapphire demonstrated a 3D monitor system, together with a special 3D stereoscopic driver they have developed in house. To take advantage of the new 3D panel, Sapphire was also showing off a pair of 3D glasses which seem similar to those of Nvidia.

We were given a sneak peak at a very agile PC built around Intel's Nehalem architecture, featuring an eight core system housed in a very sexy looking case. Intel was also showing off their new SSD chips, confirmation that they will be entering the market with this storage format.

Intel was initially unwilling to show us the guts of Nehalem, but we managed to snap images of a Nehalem system up and running. Not only did we get to see an X58 motherboard and the pin layout of the LGA1366 socket close-up, but also a glimpse of a setup running triple channel DDR3 memory.

Before the launch of Nehalem, motherboard manufacturers still have some LGA775 tricks up their sleeves in the form of the P45 chipset. A huge amount of P45 motherboards were on show from companies such as MSI, Gigabyte and Foxxconn. Since this will be the final LGA775 chipset, the companies have added plenty of features to their products.
