The winner of the 2008 Dream PC labs test in its full glory. The Scan Great White performs just as well as it looks with a mirror-like chrome exterior and triple-loop water-cooling.
The 2008 Dream PC Labs test produced some fantastic machines. Scan’s Great White deservedly won the Dream PC 2008 award with its dazzling looks and awesome performance. Scan used a combination of custom and off-the-shelf components in the Great White, including a triple-loop watercooling system, 3 Terabytes of storage space and massively overclocked compoents. The designers then chrome-plated a Silverstone TJ-07 to house all this hardware. It was supplied with Zalman 24in 3D Monitor to round off it's jaw-dropping appeal.

im surprised that new pc from yoyo tech hasnt taken over this page by now, they need 2 do some serious updates lol.
this machine is now horribly dated and looks even more ridiculously expensive thanks to core i7 appearing and trouncing every core 2 quad especially under multi GPU solutions. great this pc lark, aint it?

Reckon the guy doing the voiceover was quietly adjusting himself a few times! CPC, please still to written reviews!!
This Dream PC is for sell, with financing too!! When you're done paying it off how much will the parts be worth then? Would you upgrade this while still making payments? These PCs are HUGE money pits. http://3xs.scan.co.uk/ShowSystem.asp?SystemID=827
Do you really think Scan put this together to sell? Sticking with the car analogy a Dream PC is more of a concept car to see what can be done. All the dream PC's are marketing tools. Scan put this thing together to get your attention through the media, not make a profit out of it. Of course, there are people out there for who money has no meaning. Some would spend this kind of money on a single suit. For those is about bragging rights for a few weeks, before they get the next 'ultimate' buy. Oh, and as for resale value, well, what does it matter? If it was worth just a tenner after 6 months, do you really think they'd be put off buying in the first place??? Mind you, if anyone is selling a Dream PC that's just over 6 months old for a tenner, let me know...
this machine isnt luxury lightning pete, its just expensive full stop. theres very little in the system that actually isnt bought off the shelf, the hardware and even the basic case is off the shelf, a few components are custom but hardly anything worth the price of a quality small hatchback!! systems like this arent the dream of most pc buffs, they are the dreams of people that cant or dont have the ability to build and customise their own machine. stuff like this gives pc gaming a pretty bad name IMO, this is exactly why the consoles are killing the pc market, because you would have to be a certified loon to blow 11k on this pc even if you had the cash
if i had enough money to buy one of these i wouldn't, i'd love to build something like this and i'd feel better for it. i've only ever had one "from manufacturer" built system and it was an advent and it put me off for ever
If the DreamPC were an animal I'd hunt it into extinction! I'd bait it with a PC gamer and a wad of cash. When the DreamPC approached I'd spring from my hiding place blasting with everything I had. I'd then field strip the the thing taking the choice parts I'd need for my other PCs. I'd leave the rest for the PC gamers to scavenge. These things are the biggest waste of money in all of the electronics and gaming world!!!
Did you not know that everything depreciates in value thats used everyday? thats the way it works. Thats like saying taking out a mortgage is just silly because your paying more money back in the long run, or your buying a slightly more powerful car to be more comfortable towing?! People buy these PC's because with such a big price tag there are going to be few who possess such a CustomPC, therefore enjoy the luxury. Like with the other examples its a luxury to get a massive house with a mortgage, or a big ass 4x4 for luxury and better handling on towing. So to be honest, using your statement, Everything is a waste of money, or everyone has more money than sense. Thats just Human
if you bought a decent brand new car for the same money, you would probably get back 75 percent of its value after a year of use. in the world of gaming pc systems however, in a 12 months this machine will probably be slower than a machine built for the tenth of its price, and be worth less than a quarter its original price tag. one for the more money than sense brigade......
That is one beautiful PC, the whole of it is just stunning
the whole pc inside and out is out of this world, and so is the price lol.
That beast must be fast, the insides look SEXY and so do the outsides. Nice work Scan!
Need a winning lottery ticket to get that beast. Its the shark on the side that has won me over lol
