Remove a GPU cooler

Thinking of replacing your stock coolers with superior and quieter models, but scared of damaging your hardware? Antony Leather shows you how it’s done.

What you need:

• Set of small precision-type screwdrivers.

• Pliers.

• Thermal interface material (TIM), such as Arctic Cooling MX-2.

• Ceramic-based TIM, such as Arctic Ceramique (available from www.watercoolinguk.co.uk).

• TIM cleaner, such as ArctiClean (available from www.watercoolinguk.co.uk).

• Masking tape.
