The Caviar SE performed a coup against its 160GB Caviar AV sibling. Its Gimp image editing score was much more respectable, and it fared even better in Crysis, surpassing drives with faster average throughput scores. However, like all the other 80GB drives, it isn't good value, with a cost of 38p per gigabyte. Only the Raptor X is less economical - and at least there's some justification for its high price. When you can buy 160GB drives such as Samsung's SpinPoint S166 for virtually the same price, 80GB isn't big or clever.
