Verdict: The PC140 offer decent build quality and good looks but sound quality is merely okay
Perhaps the biggest compliment we could make about the Sennheiser PC140 is that the headphones look, feel and sound like a good pair of Walkman-style headphones, rather than a cheap pair of 'multimedia' headphones.
Rather than being attached to a flexible wire, the microphone is located at the end of a plastic arm. It's not designed to be bent into position so you can't move it closer to your mouth. As a result recordings are very quiet, but suffer from less distortion. At least the microphone can be easily swivelled upwards, and the remote sports a volume control and mute button.
For music and games the sound is bright and accurate. However, the small drivers mean that bass is sorely lacking and we had to really push up the sound levels to get decent volume.
The neckband style means the PC140 is easy to wear, and as it's also lightweight it's comfortable for extended gaming sessions.
The sound quality, however, is disappointing for the money.
