Nexus specialises in producing hardware designed to make your PC quieter, and its range of fans are labelled 'Real Silent' models. Stupidly, none of the Real Silent fans is supplied with mounting screws, which is a major oversight on the part of Nexus.
The D12SL-12 is the 120mm model of the Real Silent series, and is claimed to produce 36.87cfm at 22.8dBA at its fixed speed of 1,000rpm. Sadly, it didn't live up to its name, producing an audible 32.1dBA of noise, making it a poor choice. However, airflow was good at 40cfm.
Nexus also produces a 92mm Real Silent fan called the DF1209SL-3. This fan spins at 1,500rpm and Nexus claims it produces 27cfm at 19.2dBA.
However, in our tests, it produced just 13cfm and emitted 24.9dBA, which makes it unsuitable for cooling a powerful, overclocked PC.
The SP8025L-03 is an 80mm fan and is the smallest model of the Real Silent series. It spins at 1,500rpm, and Nexus claims it produces 20.2cfm at 17.6dBA. Oddly, it produced the same amount of airflow as its 92mm brother (13cfm), albeit at a slightly higher noise level of 26.4dBA. Ultimately, though, it can't compete with the Sharkoon Silent Eagle 1000.
