Xinruilian isn't a brand that most people will have heard of, but the Taiwanese company, which is based in China, manufactures a wide range of cooling hardware for both PCs and other electronic devices.

Over-clock is the only UK retailer selling Xinruilian products, and even then, it only stocks two fans. Both are 120mm fans, but have different motors and power inputs. As the name suggests, the 0.18A model consumes 0.18A. Its ball-bearing motor spins at 1,700rpm, and Xinruilian claims that it produces 65.12cfm at 30dBA. We measured the 0.18A fan as producing a massive 101cfm at 34dBA. There's no escaping the fact that the 0.18A fan is noisy, but as it produces a constant whooshing tone, it isn't too annoying.

The 0.4A model is even more powerful; its sleeve-bearing motor propels the blades at 2,400rpm and Xinruilian claims that it outputs 91.6cfm at 44dBA. We measured the airflow of the 0.4A fan at 121cfm and its noise as 44.5dBA. Any sound source this loud is simply annoying, but that's the price you pay for awesome airflow.

Our tests show the 0.4A fan to be the most powerful but also, conversely, the noisiest 120mm fan in this Labs test. However, although the 0.4A fan is extremely noisy, it's substantially quieter than the Vantec Tornado TD8038H, which produces the same amount of airflow, but is only an 80mm fan.
