Rumours about Nvidia developing its own CPU have been buzzing around the net for a good few months now, but the company's CEO Jen Hsun-Huang has attempted to burst the gossip bubble by stating that the aggressive behemoth of graphics cards 'is not going into that business.'
The announcement was made at Nvidia's annual shareholder conference, where Huang said that Nvidia 'cannot add much value' to the CPU market. He also said that Nvidia plans to concentrate on the GPU market, particularly as the role of the GPU is now expanding into other tasks as well as graphics. 'GPUs have become really, really valuable,' said Huang, and he also said they were one of the most 'important technologies in computing.'
