World in Conflict to come with piece of Berlin Wall

Sierra Entertainment has announced that a Collector's Edition version its forthcoming strategy game, World in Conflict, will come with a genuine piece of the Berlin Wall.

Al Simone, senior vice president of global marketing for Sierra Entertainment, said that 'The World in Conflict Collector's Edition offers gamers the chance to grab a piece of history - an authentic piece of the Berlin Wall, a monument that once divided the Cold War superpowers right through the heart of Europe.'

According to Sierra, the game asks the question, 'what if the cold war didn't end?' Simone pointed out that 'in World in Conflict, the Berlin Wall isn't dismantled in the name of global peace, it is obliterated by the collateral damage of the opening salvos of World War III.'

Sierra claims that World in Conflict 'represents the next-generation of strategy games,' and will feature destructible 3D battlefields and DirectX 10 graphics. As well as this, the game promises to quicken up the pace by 'removing traditional resource-gathering and base-building in favour of non-stop combat, tactical decisions and an FPS-like addiction to intense action.'

As well as the piece of the Berlin Wall, the Collector's Edition of the game will also come with a bonus DVD from The History Channel World and behind-the-scenes videos. World in Conflict will be available in September 2007.
