The Dremel 300 Tool Only costs under £30, features a variable speed control and doesn’t come with any attachments and accessories
If your trusty Dremel’s motor has given out after being put through too many case mods, then you might quite rightly balk at the thoug of forking out £59.95 for a new one that comes with a boatload of accessories that you already own. Thankfully, Dremel has also spotted this dilemma, and has accordingly just announced the Dremel 300 Tool Only; a basic multi-tool without any accessories for under £30.
In case you're unfamiliar with the Dremel 300, it features a 125W motor, and it also has a variable speed control that goes from 10,000 to 33,000rpm, giving you plenty of leeway whether you’re cutting plastic or various types of metal. This marks a move up from some previous budget Dremel multi-tools, which only featured two choices of speed. As well as this, the tool also comes with a soft grip to absorb vibrations.
Dremel says that the 300 Tool Only is compatible with all Dremel accessories, and that it’s ideal for ‘professionals and craftsmen wanting to replace their current multi-tool and who already own all of the Dremel accessories.’ As well as this, it’s also ideal for anyone who only wants to use a couple of accessories, such as cut-off wheels and routers, and have no need for a box full of polishing bits.
The Dremel 300 Tool Only will be released in June this year at an RRP £29.99. However, you could expect it to cost even less than this if you shop around, given that Amazon is currently selling the Dremel 300 with 25 accessories for £31.99.
...OK I take back my cursing now I've actually clicked the first link, who'd have thought B&Q cheaper than the internet! :D
Damnit why couldn't you have said this yesterday, TODAY I paid £49.94 for the 55 accessory version at B&Q !
I got a Brand new Dremel professional with sexy hard case and hundreds of tools / accesories for under £20. Admittedly I did work at a major DIY store at the time, and had access to the pricing database. It's not stealing if you adjust the price.
We don't just cover computer hardware you know. A large part of our readership are into modding PC cases, and a Dremel can be invaluable for this kind of stuff. We also like to cover any technology that's new, quirky and interesting, which is why we covered the clockwork MP3 player and earliest human voice recording stories last week. Don't worry, there'll be more computer hardware news as well.
Looking at the two unused cases sitting around that I own which I might want to mod with a window, and having no tools whatsoever, this IS relevant news for me. Clockwork MP3 player falls into Phil's Custom Kit sections, Earliest human voice recording is unashamed retro tech. Exactly what hardware news do you want, yet another mid-range graphics card refresh? Big Wow.
New Dremel costs just £29.99, Earliest human voice recording uncovered, The clockwork MP3 player. is there ever gonna be any real Hardware news again??... please i beg you to say yes... please please... pleeeEEEEEaaase
Sorry, Custom PC comments are now closed.
