Custom PC levels up with three new staff members

CPC expands

As any RPG player knows, adding the right people to your party is crucial if you want to succeed in your adventure. Our quest for new staff, begun early in the Spring has now reached a conclusion, and we're pleased to announce we've recently added three new members to the CPC team, doubling the size of the full-time editorial crew.

Expanding the team means that we'll be able to write much more for both the website and the magazine, so you can look forward to more reviews and features online, more video, and more regular podcasts too.

Orestis Bastounis joins team CPC from a stint with Future Publishing in Bath as a Senior Staff Writer; he's a committed MMO player, and frankly evangelical when it comes to EVE, and more recently Conan.

We've also hired two staff writers: Antony Leather will be known to any regular users of the CPC forums. As Combatus, he's used his considerable knowledge of water-cooling to help out many a newbie. Mark Mackay joins Custom PC from Vadim, where he helped build some of the best PCs we've ever seen (have a look at Vadim's Dream PC entry from last year to see what we mean).

All in all, it means that as Custom PC heads towards its fifth birthday*, we couldn't be in better shape for continuing our tradition of hard-hiting, informative PC hardware and games coverage. So that you can give them a warm welcome when you see them on the forums, here are their user names:

Orestis: OB_Writer
Antony: Combatus
Mark: Cutter_McJib

Nice one

Combatus :) AKA Ant :) EVE is a great game, any insight on the newish expansion EMYPERAN age would be nice, however big or small the article :)

New team memmbers!!!

Cool. Looking forward to see how you can better an already great mag. Hope you'll have more time to sort out the website too, as the elite products page is a little out of date compare to the mag listings. Maybe a subcribers only section too and more competions so that I can eventually win something. Keep up the good work.

I play other games too...

WOW is one MMO I haven't played much of, except beta. Eve, EQ2, Star Wars Galaxies, Planetside and now Conan are the ones I've racked up the most time playing. I'm also a big FPS fan, I consider myself a mean TF2 player, although I'm useless at CSS. I've been playing COD4 a lot too, and anything Quake / Unreal I dedicate my time to. Then there's strategy games... Civ4 and Supreme Commander being one my favorite ways to while away an entire evening (with a thermos of coffee and pizza). I also have a dirty console habit as well. All signs of a thoroughly wasted youth.

@gcd_638000846b0f

Despite my Greek name, I don't speak the language (Although I do love the country), except for Yiasou, Ti kaneis. and a few naughty words. They wont be printed in the magazine. But I'm glad we have some Greek readers.

Jobs for the boys!

Gratz to you all (Does that indicate I play MMOs too much?) Looking forward to consuming as much of the increased output as I can! And yes, getting to play with all the new kit must be cool, though I figure you'll end up with less time to actually use it ;) And I'm sure Alex is tough but fair... mostly :P Mmm, doughnuts.

Can we put them to work immediately to put an end to all the Intel/AMD or Nvidia/ATi....

Can we put them to work immediately to put an end to all the Intel/AMD or Nvidia/ATi talk that seems to infect every topic. Can the Phenom manage anything better than paperweight? Is Intel holding back it's greatest inventions just because it wants to? Can ATi release a GPU that does exactly what they say it can do? Is Nvidia here to take over Marks & Spencers because they heard it sells Chips? These are the important questions we need answering damn it!
