Verdict: As good as I like them to be HD 4870.

from the Rage 2C 8meg or something like that Rage Fury 128 , 64 VIVO, Hercules 9800Pro 128 256 bit, X1900GT 256 to the HD 4870. It plays all the Game and CS3 and more.

Played this card in my mobo the last month or so.Result!At last a graphics card that done what the adverts said it would do and more.Having used Nvidia cards for years and always being disappointed with their performance, I decided to try the new Ati Radion 4870 and what a difference in all my pc games played @1680x1050.I have a gaming system which is watercooled and all components are overclocked as was the 4870 card.Anyhow the whole system received a new burst of energy with the card installed(unlike the screen freezing I got with the Geforce 8800 card,also watercooled).That and other little problems are a thing of the past.So well done Ati and keep the tech. cutting edge and the price down.

Review Title: Excellent Card

Verdict: Great performance/price ratio, excellent image quality, and much quieter than Nvidia with more of the latest technology. Only downside is normal temps during gaming (not oc'd) of 78-80*C

I bought 2 of these cards 2 weeks ago as an upgrade from my 8800GTS 320Mb which scored 12,540 in 3DMark06 (with a modded custom cooler + CPU @ 3.33Ghz). At 3.5Ghz, now I get 19,035 in 3DMark06 with CrossFire. Thats with clocks: 780Mhz core + 1050Mhz/4200Mhz memory. With a custom cooler or water cooling from here, you can push this card much further than me. I used the latest Catalyst 8.7 drivers in XP. Proof here: http://snipurl.com/355jj-wte This cards fan is much quieter than than Nvidia fans. The picture quality is amazing & totally flawless. I also get less games crashing going the ATI route. Games thats crashed on Nvidia: Assassins Creed, Stalker, DMoM&M, etc.. So if I had to decide again between the ATI 4870 & either the Nvidia 260/280, then I'd pick this card everytime.

Review Title: Custom PC what are you doing

Verdict: A fantastic bit of hardware and so powerful, what more could you ask for. for Price,perfomance and most of all kicking Nvidias arse.

I'm very dissappointed in the custom pc review to, as they seem to be promoting the green giants name and products, even though ATI/AMD have made a better and cheaper product. Here are some good points for ATI/AMD 1) Drivers released every month without fail 2) cheaper Product 3) Peformance is equal or better than the 280 geforce 4) better design of pcb board and GPU the list could just keep going, hmm Nvida 1) Expensive Product 2) equal to ATI 4870 3) lucky to get 4 Driver releases a year 4) GDDR 3. 5) card big enough to park a car in. I've had Nvidia & Ati and it's ATIs Year and good for them cause i think for once that nvidia have the back against the walls.

Review Title: JUST ONE NON-BIASED REVIEW...please

Verdict: Fantastic card..try different games to see it blow the Green Monster away. A engineering and value triumph

Apart from the fact Custom PC did a review a month late and knew to wait for a price drop, then talks about another card for most of the review says it all. Nvidia are feeling mightly worried..have you ever heard of Nvidia dropping prices so quickly? It also shows us how Nvidia love to rip people off, do you think they would have charged us the full bhuna without ATI? AMD/ATI have delivered a masterclass in engineering and it shows with this card. This card actually beats the 280 in many tests and that is no cheap card. I have this card and a 4850 in another media centre and after my 8800 I will not go back to the green monster. This plays every game at great levels and is astounding at more difficult games, even crysis looks great. I use mine on a 50 inch 1080p screen and it blows me away. I may be ranting here but the review by custom pc has really annoyed me. I have for a while now considered them a bit biased but this is the last straw.I will never purchase Custom PC,Computer Shopper again (I do EVERY month) Dont listen to them, read other reviews and sites and you will clearly see Nvidia has lost the high ground.
