Team Group sounds like a 1980s cartoon featuring groups of crime-fighting superheroes/robots, who combine their powers to overcome their nemesis, usually accompanied by cliched theme music.

These Xtreem BH-5 PC3200 modules might not have rings of power, but they do have Winbond BH-5 chips, which are something of a legend among overclockers. The BH-5 chips contribute to the Extreem's 2-2-2-5 latency timings, which are as tight as any of the memory we tested in the Labs test.

The timings help in Far Cry, powering the Xtreem memory to an average score of 75fps, about 2fps quicker than generic PC3200. Low-latency PC3200 normally overclocks well, but the Xtreem couldn't compete with the award-wining OCZ EL Platinum and Patriot XBLK modules from the Labs test. With the timings bumped up to 2.5-3-3-6, the Xtreem managed a speed of 460MHz, but that required 3V, the maximum that our Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe test board allows - a considerable amount of power. With the same board, the OCZ and Patriot could be overclocked to 500MHz, albeit at slower timings.

CONCLUSION

The Xtreem modules are certainly quick at stock speeds, but being so power-hungry makes them hot and limits their overclocking abilities, making the OCZ and Patriot better choices.
